According to the X user, Ayra Starr and Wizkid had it wrong with their approach with the Diallo, recalling that he was a 25 year old unarmed Black American who was murdered for no reason.
In reality, Wyclef released his evergreen song dedicated to a black American man who was shot by a police man for no justified reason. The 25 year old man identified as Diallo inspired Wyclef’s famous song.
Wizkid and Ayra Starr would sample the song for a different romantic approach, which didn’t digest well with the dedicated fan.
He took to his X handle and expressed his pain deeply. According to him, Wizkid and Ayra Starr had it wrong for sampling the iconic song for a wack result.
“Ayra Starr & Wizkid are so ignorant. Wyclef sang Diallo about the US police killing an unarmed African in 2000. 25 years later, 2 African stars turn that sad tune about police brutality into a stupid song about sex, repeatedly calling the murdered man’s name in the silly chorus,” the user wrote.
Nigerians couldn’t hold their nerves and reacted massively according according their views.
